Insight Vacations, an award-winning global leader in premium escorted travel, in anticipation of the upcoming Robert Burns celebrations, invites clients to revel in the rich history of Scotland. With stunning mountain wildernesses, majestic castles, and one of Europe’s most amazing capital cities, Scotland is a country well-loved by South Africans. Guests will enjoy unique Insight Experiences including the highly anticipated Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and farm-to-table cuisine at Ballindalloch Castle for an afternoon of local tea and tasty scones.

“Scotland is a fascinating country of incredible natural beauty and vibrant culture with more than 50 million people across the globe claiming to have Scottish ancestry, which has become a top 2018 bucket list destination,” says Pieter Beyers, General Manager of Insight Vacations. “Our guests can continue the Robert Burns festivities with one of our authentic Insight Experiences which is a visit to the Old Pulteney Distillery in the Highlands, where they can taste a wee dram of whisky, using traditional methods for nearly two centuries.”

On January 25th, people will travel from all over the world to imbibe on haggis, whisky and poetry for Burns Night, an annual celebration dating back to 1801 of Scottish poet Robbie Burns. The infamous day is accompanied by the Scottish dish, performances, recitings of Burns’ most famous works (including Address to a Haggis), and a group sing-a-long to Auld Lang Syne. Not to worry, most dining celebrations in Scotland end on a singsong note even if Burns Night has long passed. Insight Vacations’ guests can continue the festivities by joining one of these Scotland premium journeys.
