Posted: 6 Nov 2018 What's new for Busabout in 2019?

Packed with past guests’ own photographs and testimonials, Busabout’s new 2019/20 Europe brochure makes it easier for agents to understand and sell the real Busabout experience. Debuting in 2019 are the new Small Group Adventures and four new guided Adventure trips alongside the perennial favourite Hop-on Hop-off network which now offers reduced pricing.

Ho-Ho Just Got Cheaper

“One of the biggest changes we’ve made for 2019 is to reduce the pricing of our Hop-on Hop-offs by nearly 50%,” says Marketing Manager for Busabout Jessica Clarke. Ho-Ho’s are Busabout’s top seller and to make them even more affordable they’ve been given a huge price reduction. The lead in 3-stop Pass will now retail at R2950 (was R5720) while the Unlimited Pass is now R15 750 (was R18 900).

Small Group Adventures

The new brochure simplifies the Busabout concept and demonstrates how agents can help their clients create their own bespoke European adventure. With the introduction of the new Small Group Adventures, Busabout now offers an even wider range of travel styles – making it a viable option for all types of clients, whether they are fiercely independent adventurers, or prefer to hang out with a group of like-minded fellow travellers.

“The Small Group Adventures are limited to 24 people and offer more inclusions and as they operate along the Ho-Ho network visas for some of the Eastern European countries just got a whole lot easier,” says Jessica.

They also allow travellers to dive deeper into top destinations on the Hop-on Hop-off coach network. These seven new journeys, lasting from seven to 14 days, include a dedicated expert guide, all accommodation, some tasty meals, and plenty of free time to explore independently. Itineraries include the 9-day Hidden Gems (priced from R12 800 per person) which includes hiking in the Austrian Alps, rafting in Bled and exploring off the beaten track in Venice, and the 14-day Eastern Wanderer (priced from R17 990 per person) which ticks off hot spots in Germany, Austria, Poland, Hungary and Croatia.

“We recognized a demand for more intimate group holidays, and responded with a collection of guided adventures of no more than 24 travellers, designed to experience a destination rather than just see it. Using our popular Hop-on Hop-off coach network to get groups from point A to point B, these trips offer the perfect mix of must-dos and free time.”

New Adventures for 2019

Back by popular demand for 2019 are Busabout’s Adventures – hand-crafted guided trips which explore beyond the Hop-on Hop-off coach network to European hot spots like the Iberian coast, the Balkans and Scandinavia.

Four new Adventure itineraries have been introduced in 2019 in Greece, Spain and Portugal: the two day ‘Greek Odyssey,’ which is the perfect island-hopping trip add-on; the 15-day ‘Ultimate Iberian Adventure’; the 8-day ‘Iberian Highlights’; and the 8-day ‘Iberian Trail.’ A range of sailing and island-hopping itineraries, winter and ski adventures and guided trips to Europe’s best music and cultural festivals are also featured once again, including the brand-new 8-day ‘Balkan Sail’ from Croatia to Montenegro, and trips to the Sziget, Ultra and La Tomatina festivals.

On other new trip for 2019 is a sailing and land combination called the Big Fat Greek Adventure. Priced from  R16 850 per person sharing this trip combines the Greek Island Hopper and the Greek Odyssey into one amazing 12-day adventure.

“We want to make it as simple as possible for agents to sell the Busabout experience to their clients,” Clarke continues, “so we’ve clearly outlined the five different travel styles available to clients and how they can be connected to create a bespoke adventure. Also, our new brochure is almost completely comprised of user-generated photography, and for the first time we’ve featured real passenger testimonials for every existing itinerary, giving agents insight into the real and amazing experiences of our past passengers.”

“For more information please visit our awesome new website at or speak with your dedicated Youth Area Sales Manager,” concludes Jessica.
