InterCity Express (ICE) High-Speed Train
The InterCity Express (ICE) is the high-speed train operated by Deutsche Bahn - the German railway company. These trains connect cities across Germany and with international connections to Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland and Austria., traveling at speeds of up to 300km/h.
The ICE connects 32 major cities.
Seat reservations for regular ICE trains are not required however they are recommended for long-distance journeys and when travelling during peak times. A seat reservation is mandatory on the ICE train route from Frankfurt to Paris (via Mannheim and Saarbrucken), between Germany and Denmark, and on all ICE Sprinters. Reservations can be made up to 90 days in advance. Reservation fees may apply for pass holders.
