Travel Tips
- Avoid driving at night, especially outside of the urban areas, as cattle wander the unlit roads
- English is widely spoken
- November to April is cyclone season
- Mains water in hotels and towns is safe to drink, bottled water is available
- It is important to dress modestly when away from hotels and resorts and particularly when visiting a Fijian village (no bare shoulders or short shorts – a sulu sarong is useful for men and women as a wraparound). Avoid wearing a hat in a village; it is considered an insult to the village chief
