2027 Premier program updates
Starting next year, we’re simplifying how travelers earn MileagePlus Premier status.
Earn status through spend
Starting January 1, 2027, travelers can reach status by earning Premier qualifying points (PQP) when they fly UnitedSM, United ExpressSM, or one of our Star Alliance partners, or spend with an eligible United card.

Take four flights
We’re removing Premier qualifying flights (PQF) requirements, but travelers will still need to take at least four United or United Express flights in 2027.
Start the new year with PQP
Travelers who have an eligible United card by December 31, 2026, and qualify for 2027 Premier status, will get 5% of the PQP needed to reach their earned status level.
