 FlyNamibia is the country’s first privately-owned scheduled passenger airline, born from the rebranding of FlyWestair in 2021. As part of the well-established Westair Aviation—founded in 1967—FlyNamibia benefits from deep industry expertise in aircraft maintenance, charter services, and pilot training.

The airline operates a growing domestic and regional network. From Windhoek’s Eros Airport, FlyNamibia connects key destinations such as Ondangwa, Rundu, Lüderitz, Oranjemund, Katima Mulilo, Swakopmund, and Etosha. From Hosea Kutako International Airport, it offers flights to Cape Town, Victoria Falls, and Maun. The recent launch of a Windhoek–Maun route via Katima Mulilo supports cross-border tourism in Southern Africa.

In 2022, FlyNamibia formed a strategic partnership with South Africa’s Airlink, which acquired a 40% stake in the airline. As part of this agreement, FlyNamibia uses Airlink’s IATA code (4Z) while retaining its own brand identity. This partnership expanded the airline’s global reach through major distribution systems and interline agreements with international carriers including Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, and United Airlines.

FlyNamibia joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 2023, reinforcing its commitment to global safety, security, and sustainability standards. With regional growth plans targeting destinations in East and Central Africa, the airline is positioning itself as a vital connector for business and leisure travelers in Africa.

FlyNamibia is committed to empowering local talent by investing in the training of Namibian pilots, cabin crew, and engineers. The airline plays a key role in supporting tourism, mining, and emerging industries like green hydrogen.
