The Berlin Night Express is the only direct train link from Germany to Sweden and also offers a unique travel experience as part of the journey involves the train traveling onboard a ferry through the Baltic Sea.
This train operates limited services from April to August. If you plan to travel from Germany to Sweden on a regular service (not the Berlin Night Express) you need to travel via Denmark (you will need to pay extra if your pass does not include travel to Denmark).
Route: Berlin - Malmö
From Malmö (Central) departing at 9:15 p.m. arriving the next day at 7:04 a.m. in Berlin (Hbf): Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
From Berlin (Hbf) departing at 10:30 p.m. arriving the next day at 8:10 a.m. in Malmö (Central): Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
Reservations are mandatory.
Eurail pass holders only require a pass valid in Sweden to travel on the Berlin Night Express. Reservations can be made at train stations in Germany and Sweden, or through the Swedish railways SJ, the German railways DB or the operating company Snälltåget.
