Japan Rail Pass (JR Pass)

The Japan Rail Pass (JR Pass) is a cost effective rail pass for long distance train travel in Japan.

Eligibility for use:
- You are a foreign tourist visiting Japan from abroad for sight-seeing, under the entry status of "temporary visitor" (15 or 90 days)
- You are a Japanese national living outside of Japan (written proof will be required)

Types:
There are two types of JAPAN RAIL PASS: Green (for superior-class Green cars), and Ordinary. Each of these types is available as a 7-day, 14-day, or 21-day PASS.

Note: A JAPAN RAIL PASS cannot be purchased inside Japan.
