The Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site is one of eight South African World Heritage Sites. It is the world`s richest hominin site, home to around 40% of the world`s human ancestor fossils.
This site currently occupies 53,000 hectares, it contains a complex of limestone caves, including the Sterkfontein Caves and the award-winning Visitor Interpretation Centre, Maropeng. The area is filled with hundreds of attractions and activities, from go-karting, zip-lining and horse riding to arts and crafts, fine dining and couples’ spa treatments.
