Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was created in December 1991 following the break up of the Soviet Union. Individual sovereignty of the participating countries is maintained. The CIS aims to coordinate trade, finance, lawmaking, and security between the states, as well as cross-border crime prevention.
All former Soviet Republics with the exception of the Baltic States are members of the C.I.S.
Visitors and holders of valid visas for Russia can apply for entry for these States from Moscow.
It is advisable to have a visa support letter/invitation from permanent resident or company of that country containing direct reference to pax & reason for visit.
SA citizens can apply for a Kyrgyz visa in any Kyrgyz Embassy abroad. Also, according to the na tional legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, South African citizens can apply for a Kyrgyz visa on their arrival to Kyrgyzstan in the International airport Manas.
