VR Railways

VR Railways is the passenger railway network of Finnish Railways and links the country's major towns and cities.

VR Railways operates a night train from Helsinki to Kolari, beyond the Arctic Circle which takes 13 hours.

There are four train types of trains on VR Railways’ network - InterCity (IC), high-speed Pendolino (EP) trains, regular express trains and slower local trains. You need seat reservations on all express trains marked ‘IC’ and ‘EP’.
